Once upon a time, in a galaxy far, far away...
Junar sprang up from Javier Pájaro's idea.
He's an Argentinean passionate about technology, who discovered about years ago that there was a gap between the search for information and it's effective use. At that moment, it was hard to find the data he needed for his work and daily life, and even harder to track them down and use them naturally in the computer tools of his choice.
To address this need, he had the option to hire the services of specialized information providers, but these were totally out of his budget. Thus, once he understood this need, he began to seek a solution through the convergence of several trends emerging at the time: DaaS (data as a service), SaaS (software as a service), Wikis and social networks / social media. Such solution should be able to democratize data on the Internet and improve it's effectiveness every day with the help and collaboration of it's users' community.
So, this is how Junar was born, and after a few months of developing to test the concept at a technical level, Javier decided to look for a partner who would be his business complement / match. He thought about Diego immediately, a fellow citizen, neighbor, and elementary school classmate, who he always had as reference when it comes to new ventures.
Since then, Diego has been focusing on the development of the business, and Javier on the technological development, and with time, several characters have joined them, convinced about one thing: carrying on with Junar.

Diego May CEO-
Experience: 15 yrs in the tech industry, from telecom to software, from sales and biz dev to director and CEO roles. Spent time from the VC and investor side. Worked with big corporations but enjoyed much smaller companies and start-ups working their way up the growth ladder.
Studies: Industrial engineer from ITBA in Buenos Aires (95), MBA from MIT Sloan (02) where I enjoyed and absorbed all the great energy of such an amazing university. Always studying the alchemy of companies in their inception and early days.
Loves: Working with geeks and translating technologies into market products and services. The idea of a happier world (with all that involves). Sunrise barefoot running in new cities, watching how they wake up. Anytime I spend with my wife and daughter. Time with friends and interesting conversations.
